Monday's Music: Wings - Give Ireland back to the Irish

Monday once again, and again after a very nice weekend. On Saturday was St. Patrick's day, as most of you know St. Patrick is the main patron of Ireland, that great small island on the middle of the North Atlantic. I have only been once to Ireland, and was just a couple of days in Dublin, I have to go to visit the countryside, I have heard that is gorgeous.

Anyway, dedicated to all the Irish, I think it is time (it has been time since 1916) for Britain to remove their colony in Northern Ireland, and here it is a song by an Englishman talking about it.

Written by Paul and Linda McCartney for the late band of Paul McCartney called Wings:

I took the lyrics directly from the youtube video description.

Wings - Give Ireland back to the Irish

Give Ireland back to the Irish
Don't make them have to take it away
Give Ireland back to the Irish
Make Ireland Irish today
Great Britian you are tremendous
And nobody knows like me
But really what are you doing
In the land across the sea

Tell me how would you like it
If on your way to work
You were stopped by Irish soliders
Would you lie down do nothing
Would you give in, or go berserk

Give Ireland back to the Irish
Dont make them have to take it away
Give Ireland back to the Irish
Make Ireland Irish today

Great Britian and all the people
Say that all people must be free
Meanwhile back in Ireland
Theres a man who looks like me

And he dreams of God and country
And he's feeling really bad
And he's sitting in a prison
Should he lie down do nothing
Should give in or go mad

Give Ireland back to the Irish
Dont make them have to take it away
Give Ireland back to the Irish
Make Ireland Irish today

Give Ireland back to the Irish
Dont make them have to take it away
Give Ireland back to the Irish
Make Ireland Irish today
